This past Sunday myself and vtmtnman went up to Pittsfield to take a walk around the property I've been given permission to hunt(also got permission for Rich to hunt with me). We found some good spot to put up some stands and got a feel for the land.

While there I gave Jennifer a 28@28 60" York Cadet I picked up in the classifieds here. I made a new string for it and made her up some woodies with pink and yellow fletch. She was pretty happy and a shocked when I told her it wasn't a loan, the bow is now hers. We made a cardboard box target and set to some shooting and a short lesson. The smiles were real.

Yesterday I received a card in the mail with a long thank you written in it and her telling me of her progress in the few days since we met. She is now hitting the bullseye some and is one happy camper.

While we were there she mentioned that the farm at the bottom of the hill that does bike tours was thinking of expanding their offerings. This is the land of million dollar houses and not usually a bastion of hunting/archery. Well this morning I received and e-mail from Collins Stewart LLC (check them out in Google) asking me if I had an interest in setting up an archery school/camp on the property. They have lots of buildings and a few hundred acres to put at my disposal for it.

Man, you never know what a little sharing will lead to. I will be getting a call a little later today to discuss it. I wonder where this will lead, perhaps a VT version of Denton Hill(one can hope). When I get up there I'll take a load of pictures and share my excitement. Stay tuned!

Just got off the phone. They have two farms. I will be meeting one of the owners at a yoga studio they own tomorrow to go take a tour. I asked him when they planned on doing things and so forth and he said that was up to me. They would like to start a youth program and other events for the local community to start and build on it from there.

They found the right man for the job. They don't come any better than David. Thats one shoot I will surely make the drive for if it develops.

Excellent news Dave. In case you didn't know it, YOU ASKED FOR IT. Now build it, and they will come.

This is Joe the fellow who wants to bring some Traditional Archery to Pittsfield Vermont.

The rest of the pics won't have much in explanation but you'll get the idea and I'll post more at the end.

There is a barn for indoor shooting this winter. He is willing to buy targets for some 3d courses. Etc etc.

I also can take whomever I want hunting on the property this year, anyone want to go.

He is serious about doing a big Denton Hill style shoot here, starting small next year and expanding into it the year after.

Anyone want to come to Vermont?

That would be awesome!  I would love to come to an east coast shoot as long as it doesnt interfer with any of the Michigan shoots.
