I was looking into the Grizzley Stik shafts... I shoot a Bob Lee Hunter takedown 58" 56#@ 28" My draw is 27".

My question is; are they worth the extra money for what they claim to do or is there other alternatives?

Dave,
I love them but....Ive no clue if they are "worth the extra money". I just wanted to try them and I am this fall.

Depending on what you want to put up front, weight wise you may find what I did.

On my 55lb bow, shooting heavier heads, the Sitka just flat wasnt enough and the Alaska is almost too much but that was with longer shafts than what you will need.

If shooting a standard head, the Sitkas should work ok and at 28 inches you might be able to load the front a little. Others here probably have tried that.

I know they are "rated" for that weight but not if you're going to load them up any. At least not for me out of a Super K.

Id pick up one or two or hit the "garage sale" on ABS for seconds so you dont sink tons in them to find out what will work.

START LONG, regardless of what works for me. Once cut.......well, you know..lol

Buy a couple of the factory seconds and give them a try.

If you need to increase point weight to weaken spine.....CHANGE HEAD WEIGHT....NOT insert weight....Adding the internal weights to insert is for building EFOC arrows and has litte to no effect on spine changes. good luck
Aim down your arrow because thats where it's going.

I used Stika's cu to 29" out of my 57#@27" Schafer longbow, about 62# at my 28 ½" draw, and they flew great with a 125 grain woodsman and 40 grain adaptor.  You may have to add a little weight up front or leave them a little longer.  I found they flew the same when 30" or 29", as suggested earlier, start long and work your way down.  I switched to Arrow Dynamics because they work as good or better and have received better customer service from their suppliers then from Alaska Bowhunting supply.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Dave, i bareshaft all my Griz sticks to my bows. Shoot a bareshaft Sitka for me in a target(about 8 steps away) and tell me which way the nock leans?  left or right or straigh... then we'll go from there........sitkas are about 450 deflection

Been there 2 weeks+.......Be sure when you get your shafts to click on ABS site and watch short video clip on how to find stiff side of arrow so you can line your nocks up the same for all three shafts. These shafts have a spine in the them.........bareshaft one and tell me how the arrow leans and i can set you up...........i shoot Alaskans out of my 65# 30" Homemade Glass recuve with a 185pt.. I shoot Sitkas out of my Homemade glass recurve 53# @ 30" with 125pt....my arrows cut a bullet hole through paper test. I use a 3 fletch- 3 3/8" Blazer Homemade Profile with my feather burner.
