Okay, I have to admit it, I'm addicted.

I decided I needed a takedown bow (you know, in case I get another chance to go to Alaska), so I started shopping. Wouldn't you know, I found one

I had just about convinced myself to order a new Chek-Mate Hunter II. Then my hunting partner reminded me of how much quieter longbows are than recurves. I went home and shot both...he was right. As quiet as I think I have my recurves, they still don't come close to longbow quiet.     :readit:     A money order is wending it's way via the USPS to New Hampshire where my new (to me)Kota Prairie Nomad lies in wait, already packaged for shipment. She has two sets of 62" limbs: 53# @ 29" and 53# @ 28", yew veneers over bamboo core, cocobolo and ebony riser...drool...       :jumper:

Yes, I am a bowaholic...but I'm done now

You know I said when I got into trad that I just needed one good longbow and it would last me the rest of my life....
I shoot a Bear montana longbow, never thought I would enjoy a recurve as much as as a long bow but somehow I ended up with a Bear super mag 48" that I don't think I can part with. Then I discovered all these fine bowyers out there and I am waiting on my Striker Slapstick from Rick Ellis (Spent a day at his shop shooting and WOW) Got another bow ordered from Rick for a bear hunt next year.
My wife said she didn't see how I could need all these bows and I told her I read a guys signature on here that said "If you want it more than three times you surely need it" (Love that theory) and I have been looking at some MadDog bows, Waiting till I want it the third time LOL.
Love my bows and love shooting them, It's good clean fun!

Hey 30coupe check out a Kota Killum. You'll soon add one of them to your list. The best of both worlds.

I had a Killum a while back. Nice bow, very pretty, but the grip just wasn't right for me, so it found a new home. It was probably the smoothest drawing recurve I have shot though. I hope the Nomad will be the same. The measurement on the grip is much better anyway.

On one particular sunday this summer the misses was gone for the day so I decided to take all my bows out and look them over (see what needed new strings and such) out on the picnic table well actually it took both tables. Wouldn't ya know it she came home early and caught me red handed, she finally found out how many I had. I used the same old line of "well some are for the kids"

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

Hey Russ, I just got back from a bear hunt last nite, (been guiding for 10 days, we got a BIG one but I can't talk about that here seein as it was a gun hunt), way to go on the new bow. Just remember the to keep telling youself, "I can quit any time I want to"   :D    :biglaugh:

I expect to see that bow next spring for your black bear hunt.
