I am new to trad gang, I hope this is the right area for this question. I am also new to trad. shooting,I have a Bear Cub long bow, 48# @28".
I'm looking to get some input on size and type of arrow to use for hunting. ( 27.5 " draw length ).

2016 with 125's up front - start with aluminum, your draw and form will improve over time - lot's of time. If you have no arrow making stuff have them cut to 29 1/2" - you'll gain 1/2" to 1" over time.

In aluminum I would go with 1916's.  Carbon you could use Gold Tip 35/55's or Carbon Express 150's. Another carbon shaft would be the Arrow Dynamic Traditional Lites, which come in Black or a Wood Grain.

Welcome to the gang.

I just tuned up my 46#@28" R/D longbow and I ended up with 45-50 spined sitka spruce cut 28" BOP with 135-145 grain broadheads and 3  5 1/2" shield feathers. My draw is 27". Good Luck!!!  Bob
