You fellers need to get to some more shoots out of the region 8^).  Black Widows are nice bows, but you really need to get outside the little box of 3D to see where the ship really hits the sand.   See what's shooting top scores on the NFAA circuit where the shots are farther than 30 or 40 yards.   Mostly you will find ILF limbs and metal risers standing on the podium.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Widows and their history, and the beauty of wood risers, but there's others out there that are better overall for stacking arrows in the five ring.

George your right, but if you limit the bows to shooting off the shelf then those metal riser ILF bows don't shoot any better.
We have a traditional class in our state shoots here most of the time and we shoot off the shelf in that class. A Navajo Bow usually wins it. But I'm steadily climbing into the game with my Widow. And I shoot outdoor at 45 and 65 yards unless I'm practicing for elk hunting.
I still don't shoot anything as well as I have shot my bear takedown though. I've broke more arrows with that bow than any other.

Its so beautiful and gracefull, gotta love wood bows

I'm able to miss superbly-well with my Black Widows.

I do like them, but they don't have more accuracy magic than other comparible bows.

BW, Morrison, Bob Lee -  they are all fantastic  bows. I love my BW PMA II but before I got her,  I won plenty of 3D tourneys shooting a Martin Hunter.  A good, consistent, focused shooter and a well made, consistent shooting bow are a winning combination.
The toughest thing I've found about deer hunting is getting them to hold still long enough for me to stick an orange spot on them and then step off the yardage...

I believe Widows are some of the best made bows out there, I also believe that most of the best shooters will eventially shot a Widow. I've also been to Nixa and saw Toby sprinkle pixie dust on the bows.

I have owned alot of very nice bows last few years and can say my PSX-X is one of the easiest bows I have ever owned to shoot with accuracy. Like stated above I have had faster bows and quieter bows but the shape and weight of the PSA riser just makes it easy to shoot well. Right now I am mainly shooting Morrisons but my PSA-X still gets the call time to time and I bagged a nice tom this spring with it and several wild hogs this spring.

Have a BW longbow agree over all it provides for an excellent combination of features we all look for in a bow. And it is the person pulling the string that make it happen. Does help to have a bow you have confidence with, thanks Jerry.
