Barebow archery can be very accurate, and most things in the sport aren't new, including aiming styles and form.  These scores were from field/hunter and animal rounds, from 20ft to 80 yards, 4 arrows per target (field and hunter rds) and 28 targets per round.

Thanks for sharing that George.  The last two paragraphs of the article hold especially true even today!

Thanks George. I liked the last two paragraphs too; but the fact his daughters shot bows was pretty telling also.
But my favorite part - that connects us here to him- (IMHO) was his statement that another person bought the bow; and that 'he tried it; and eventually bought it'.
That aspect of bowhunting is still alive. I have been to shoots where halfway through the shoot we are trying each others bows and as well each others arrows.
So the 'tried the bow and ~ eventually ~ bought it' line- especially tickled me.
THE VOICES HAVEN'T BOTHERED ME SINCE I STARTED POKING THEM WITH A Q-TIP.

George, thanks for sharing the article with us. It was very interesting.
I wonder if Frank Gandy is still around?

GOOD SHOOTING!

George, thanks for the memories.  I remember following the bare bow shooters in the NFAA back then, and they were quite a number of excellent shooters.  Seems to have been the 'hay day'.  thanks again.....................Shick
