Climbing Tree Stands

Was looking to buy a climbing Tree Stand ,, so many choise from which ones are user friendly for Bowhunting :confused:

Check Lone Wolf...a bit pricey but an excellent stand. Well made and very silent.

ol' man!!!! i love mine. ive shot 2 deer with it on my back. its also very comfortable.
mine is about 10 years old, so its made of steel.
but they make the new ones from aluminum, and you can even get the carbon fiber model!!

I'm a fan of Summit. Good stand and won't make you take out a mortgage. They make a few models without a front rail or arm-rests that are bow friendlier.

You are going to get several answers to your question because there are some good stands out there. Lone Wolf and Summit always seem to pop up a lot in these discussions. Before last season, when I was looking for a climber, I did a lot of reading and comparing on the forums and on the stand makers' websites. In the end I bought a Treewalker SL from their website and a Molle backpack kit from *bay. To me, this is the perfect climbing stand setup. It is very bowhunter friendly, and I can't say enough about how pleased I have been with it.

You might not like the fact that it has a front crossbar, but at just 11 pounds and fully adjustable (meaning you can level it) when you are in the tree, the Timbertall Baby Lite is tough to beat. It is lighter by 4 lbs than the new Ol man carbon. I don't know about you, but I place a lot of value on being able to carry the dang things in to where I hunt and so the weight means a lot. The fact that I can level it out once up in the tree if I misjudged the taper of the tree when on the ground goes a long way toward comfortable sits.

Another Summit guy here. I like the cobra, but the Razor model is nice too, as it's sit and climb style but the bar folds under the seat so once up in the tree it's open front. I've used lone Wolfs as well, they worked, I just can't understand the price point. Seems like a no-brainer to me, I didn't get anohter $150 of "benefit" out of their product. Just an opinion of course. Both worked well.

I am a big dude so I like a good solid stand. I trust my life to summit and you can too. Why does that sound familar? Bro uses lone wolf loves that becasue the front bar folds out of the way.

Lots of pros and cons and things to consider. I only use a lonewolf and wouldn't consider using anything else. But, I stand most of the time and like to go in light and quiet. I think LW is plenty comfortable, but if you want soemthing really "cushy" you might want to consider another kind.
If you could hit a cable's or bass pro you could really get a hands look on them. That might be best. Good luck.

i also like the timber tall. saw at the harrisburg hunting show last year and fell in love with it. made in usa and very nice. just cant get away from my old man!

My first climber was a Loggy Bayou ( I don't know if they even make stands anymore) but I wore that dude out. Got a Summit Viper now, the front bar folds down for bow shooting. I like it and and liek the other fellas said.. Won't break the bank.

I love my Lone Wolf sit-n-climb, but if I were a bigger guy I probably wouldn't like it.
