Well I guess I'm not one to leave well enough alone.

I like two blade broadheads for penetration, but I like four blades through the hide for blood trails.

I bought Some Zwicky No Mercy single left bevel broadheads and cut slots in them with a dremel tool to accept some old Bear Razorhead inserts I had.

They weigh about 175 gr.  The Razor insert fits better than the Bear installation design.  I shoot a 68 lb recurve and the arrow total weight is 680 gr.

My experiences with Bear Razorheads were that the insert will often shear off with bone contact allowing the head to continue penetration yet giving me an x shaped entry wound.

Mind you, I have always shot fairly heavy bows and the only game I've taken with Razorheads were whitetails.

As far as shooting these modified heads goes, they fly perfect from my set up.

Who knows, Maybe this combination of two fine broadheads will bring me some luck on my up comming Elk hunt.

Oh my goodness...you'll lose the magical twisting motion of a single bevel with that bleeder in there    ;)

Seriously, they look very deadly!!

Looks Deadly as all get out.  No doubt in my mind even with a lighter bow that thing is penitrating! and a 4 blade!!
It's not the size of the game you take that means Success!
It's the experience of pursuing game that give true Outdoor Success!!!!!

didn't I read somewhere that the bear bleeders where designed to "snap" off on impact or maybe after hitting bone,IDK ,, but if so I'm wondering if that is how the bleeders do work then the single edge would work exactly as designed?

They are making No Mercey 4 blades now...I've got some and they are wicked looking.

If you put a single bevel on the bleeders you will actually gain torque.
