Wow, 64", 55# @ 28" (58# @ 29").  Not overly sure on the woods, but is beautiful.  I added a Selway slip-on which makes it rather heavy (which I like...), super smooth drawing and it really likes my 55/75 Gold Tips.

Can't complain to this point, but we'll need some more time to do some fine tuning.

The wood combination in that Non-Typical is Bolivian Rosewood and Black African. Both are very heavy woods. Do I get a prize? Oh, wait I made that bow so I guess I'm disqualified.  :knothead:
Good looking bow and in great shape for its age. Doesn't look like the previous owner shot it much. Congrats!

You are fortunate to find a used Non-Typical. That one is very attractive. Bill is one of the best bowyers ever and builds not only a good looking bow but also a good shooting bow. When you are ready to get rid of it, let me know!   ;)   I have a Non-Typical, but it is a significantly lower poundage bow and not as fancy in the wood department. Want to trade bows with me paying some money to boot?    :readit:

I currently have a Brackenbury Peerless static tip recurve on order from Bill. I have shot the prototype, and it is incredible! I have it right now and hate to send it back to Bill, but off it must go soon. It may be (and probably is) the best Brack ever, and that is saying a whole lot. Bracks are among my favorites. With more than a dozen of them on my rack, they are the most numerous of any make in my collection of about 40 bows.

Dang Allan, 40 bows,LOL, and I thought I was bad with 12 on the rack.

My favorite bow is my Brack Quest and I have another on order.

I shot a Non-typical that my bro had and it was a shooter, tried to steal it from him,LOL. I think he has since sold it as he was out of work.

Say, could you email me pics of the Peerless? Have not seen one. drowan11@yahoo.com

Bill Howland does a fabulous job with his bows.  I have a Non-Typical with gorgeous spliced veneers on the limbs and a chunk of turquois embedded into the riser.  But the real story on Bill's bows are not just how they look, but how they shoot...which is just super!

Congrats on getting a heck of a nice bow.  Good luck with it this Fall!

That is one of the nicest bows I have ever shot.  The only reason I don't have one is the wait time.  If I had ordered one after he sent me the non-typical prototype then I would probably have 2 by now!  Great guy and in the top of the heap of bowyers in all departments.  What is this new recurve.  Oh no here I go again.  Just gonna have to bite the bullet and get on the list.  :scared:

Yeah Danny, got it from Thomas who got it from Don.  It is really liking my 31" Goldtip 55/75 and 200 grain tips.  160 Snuffer w/long aluminum adaptor, and 125 grain Snuffer & 125 grain Wensel Woodsmans with 75 grain steel.  Am still getting a bit of porpoising that I need to figure out but it is stacking them in pretty good.

What is the deal on the new bow design?  Is it a Quest riser with static tips?  :help:
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

Hatchchaser,

The Peerless is no more of a Quest with static tip limbs than the Non-Typical is a Quest with longbow limbs. All three of them are very different bows, and all of them shoot great. Of course, they were all born in Bill Howland's head, so they are bound to have a family resemblance. If a picture paints a thousand words, then maybe I should just show you a few pictures of the prototype I have been shooting. As to what Bill did exactly with the design, I think you would get the best answer by asking him yourself. As to what I think of the bow, I can only tell you that after shooting the Peerless I told Bill to change the Non-Typical I had ordered a year and a half ago to a Peerless. If I had been on Bill's order book for two bows, I would have changed the first one to a Peerless and kept the second bow as a Non-Typical, because my present Non-Typical is one I picked up used while I had my new one on order, and I would really like one in my choice of poundage and materials -- I just like the Peerless better. Here are the pictures.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Wow.  I shot the prototype non-typical and should have ordered one.  I'm just gonnna have to get on the waiting list.  Is it faster than the quest and quiet as the non-typical?  I really like static tip recurves.
