I was told by a Big name in Archery that I could leave my glass backed bows strung all of the time.  What are a few opinions here if you dont mind?  I am totally new to these glass backed bows so your opinions are very important to me.  Thanks

I am not an authority on this issue but I always, always, store my recurve or longbow unstrung and hung on a bow rack or laying flat, never stood in the corner.
My opinion is simply why take a chance on twisting the limbs.

Both of my recurves that I often use stay strung and hung from the string by two pegs.

I shoot a Bob Lee Signature recurve.  In the owners' video he sends out with his bows, Bob suggests hanging the bow by the string on pegs so it can swing freely (like Bowhuntah described).  But, if it'll be a week or longer before the next time you shoot, Bob recommends unstringing and hanging it on a rack (like Stiks-nStrings described).

I've been pretty brutal with mine, I guess, storing them strung standing in corners for extended periods (right now there's 4 strung bows in the corner of my screen room, three recurves I've been setting up and a longbow) but I've never had a problem. Step-through stringing has much more damage potential.

Mine has been strung for 2 years wih no issues. I shoot daily and don't see the need to string/unstring it every day.

I figure I'm MORE likely to damage it in that process anyway.

If I am shooting regularly I leave them strung, and usually during the season unless they are going to be left in my car.

I've seen this thread many times on many boards. From my experience, you will here about 50/50 answers. Half will say leave it strung, half will say unstring it. IMO, go with what YOU think. If it's a really nice bow and you don't want to risk it, unstring it and put it away. If your using a piece of wood with a string on it that you don't care about as much, then I say do whatever. I personally am a fan of always unstringing but like I said, I think it's a personal preference.
