I use a reflex/deflex longbow and had fastflite on it. What are the experts recommendations for replacement?
I do not stay up on bowstring development.

I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I'd go with Dynaflight '97 or 8125.  What's the draw weight?  That would determine the number of strands.  I'd also go with padded loops, and 62XS for the serving.

I think I need a new one on my new to me R/D LB also.   It is 55@29.  When do you know it is time for a new one in general?  I had a couple frayed fibers sticking out here and there before I waxed it real good, but no creep in the string length so far shooting it.  It is a FF now.  

I don't like the real skinny string with the small dia serving.  It is hard on my fingers.  What are the options to get a good fast, quiet, and easy on the finger string?

I've heard of people getting away with shooting a string for years, but I like to change mine when it starts showing any significant wear.  A little fuzz doesn't hurt, but a lot of fuzz or a broken strand, it gets replaced.  I usually change mine at least once a year anyway, but it's a convenient for me.

Serving size will depend on the number of strands in the string and the type nock you use.  12 strands of Dynaflight '97 will be fine on a 55@29 (you could use less), serving size depends on the nock.  If it bothers your fingers, you might consider a tab or glove with cordovan leather.

For 57#, you could go with 10 strands (maybe a little less, depending on your preferances) of Dynaflight '97 or 10-12 strands of 8125.  A few more strands wouldn't hurt, if you prefer a larger diameter string--just cost you a tad of performance.

62XS is a braided serving material offered by BCY.  I like it because it's tough, doesn't slip on the string easily (like Halo can), and I get a good release with it.

Its a little bit of a pain, but I double serve all of my strings(8125) with diamond wrap on the bottom and crown or halo on top. I double serve only in the finger area to cut down on string weight.
