Whats the deal with using a file instead of a stone? Is there something I am missing? I always just used a stone but if there is a better way I sure would like to know. Thanks folks.

Some people feel that file sharpened heads do a better job damaging animal tissue do to the rough nature of the sharpened edges.

That's a whole other debate though.

A file typically removes metal faster than a stone also.

I start my 3 blade heads with a file then finish with stones and leather.
