I received my bow hush and hush puppies in the mail yesterday.  Great CS and a great product.  It's my second purchase and it'll be my second install.

First time, I didn't know so much about bow tuning/arrow tuning.  But I do know ANYTHING can "potentially" affet tune.

Has anyone EVER had this installation affect bow/arrow tune?  I've got a couple more shoots (tomorrow and next Sat).  I'd like to go ahead and install this morning.....but didn't want to take a chance.

I already have yarn balls on the string, but not the loop yarn wraps.

you aren't hunting, so noise isn't an issue.  Let it be until you can put the time in to tune it up.

Just my honest opinion....

I prefer to tune my bow and arrows after I have everything already set with my silencers installed.

If it is differant from what you had on before it will change your tune. Wait untill after the shoots then install and tuner up.

Not just Bow Hush...but you should tune to what ever silencer you are using...and they sould already be on the string.

You should always tune 'hunt ready'.

I'll change them out after my shoots.  No biggie, I just had time, today.

I wouldn't have considered it....except I already have yarn balls currently in the string.

What concerned we was adding the loop yarn.

Jeff, I'm going to tell you to tune your bow first and then try the silencers.  If it affects your tuning that much, you were borderline anyway.  I tune my bows with a bare string and work to fine the brace that is quietest. Then I will add what I need to further quiet.

It's ironic that one will suggest bareshafting an arrow prior to fletching it, when the dynamics of the arrow changes more radically with fletching, then a  string does with silencers...my opinion of course, over my hundred year in the sport 8^).  Oh well.  Each person approaches things differently, and I guess it works for them.      

I rarely disagree with what George says, but I sure do this time.  Here's why:

I tune for perfection, because I am imperfect.  My belief is, the better my bow and arrow combination is tuned, the less effect my little mistakes will have.

If I'm pulling on a deer, and short myself 1/4" or 1/2" of draw length because I'm cold, or excited, or whatever, tuning becomes much more critical.  A "just a little bit stiff" arrow becomes a horrid, clanging, beast that won't fly where I want it.

Tuning without silencers on your string is a good way to end up with an arrow that's a little too stiff in the end.  Been there, done that!

I found the bowhush not to affect tune but I found the hush puppies to cause my arrows to react too stiff.  I had to raise my point wieght from 125gr to 200gr.  I didn't mind because I wanted the FOC and weight and quietness.

I got them installed.....and put some "really thin rubber material between my riser/limbs.  I'll let the rubber settle, overnight, and try to see if tune was affected, tomorrow.  Luckily, I'm shooting 30" BOP arrows, now....and I have a doz. that are 31", also.  One of those should work.  I'll report back.
