I have a deer hide in the freezer that I need to take care of before we move. It hasn't had anything done to it I just rolled it up and put It in a plastic bag. Anyone know of a tanner that I could send it to and have process......stabow

You can take it to your local taxidermist so that it can be fleshed and salted. I am sure that they can send it off to one. I coudl give you several but they all require a preped hide before thy recieve it.

You can try the Wildlife Gallery in Michigan, one of the best. There also is a place here in Wisconsin called JB Place thats located in the West Bend, Wi area.

Avoid the taxidermist step if you can.  I would try to deal with the tannery directly.  I have worked with my local taxidermist, and I am still waiting for a mule deer hide that I delivered to him 9 months ago.

look in the yellow pages and find a tannery near you.  Send them the hide and you're done.  Salting and drying a hide is just another wasted step unless you don't have access to a freezer (you do).  You could always throw it away and get another fresh one this fall!!

Wouldn't want to lose this one, it has a special meaning to me. Was hunting with a good friend who has since past away......stabow

Ive used these guys before and will again. Pretty painless. You either send the stretched and dried hides or I think you can also send heavily salted hides too.
