My 15 year old Steiner 7X50 Military Binos failed a 10 foot drop test and require replacement.
If price was not consideration, which of the following have worked well for any of you, that have almost 70 year old eyes and still like scout till light is gone.
12X42 Predator
10X50 Merlin

If it was me I would go with the 10 X 42 Predators. That would give you a few more minutes morning and evening. You would be hard pressed to hold a pair of 12 powers steady for very long and not get eye strain and probably motion sick too.

I wanted a pair of Predators but came across a deal on used pair of 10 X 42 Leupold Pinnacles that I love ! I was looking at deer last year 20 minutes after it was too dark to see with a naked eye. Deer was about 200yds away in a growed up clear cut. We kept watching till they fed off before we slipped down the tree to keep the spot productive and not spook them.

I have the Predator 8x30's I love the size/weight plus the glass is very,very clear.I can see at night with alittle moon light and way into dusk beyond when my normal eye sight fails. They are also made in Germany not China.

I have a pair of the 10x42 Predators and really like them, the weight is great and the clearity is excellant, I also have a pair of 6x30's Steiners that I use in the heavy cover here in Pa which I've owned for 20 yrs and can't say enough about either.
