Where can I get some audio recordings of elk calls to avoid buying some CDs.  Anything on YouTube or something else?  

I'm not familiar with recordings on the web although I don't doubt there are some out there.  But I sure would encourage you to consider buying Elknuts DVD's or CD's.  Just get one if that's all you can afford, or the whole set if you can.  It will be the best money you spend preparing for an elk hunt!
