Somedays I really have trouble shooting the big wide 2 blade heads. It all me, I tried mounting them every which way, but somehow I get more easily destracted some days then others. So I was thinking about getting a more of a 3 to 1 ratio head. Mabey a Snuffer, Phantom ect....

Any recomendations??  :confused:

Phantom's are super sharp out of the pack.  I think the snuffers pack more of wallop and are incredibly easy to sharpen.  You won't go wrong with either.  But if I'm not mistaken the snuffer isn't a 3 to 1 ratio.  Maybe take a look at the woodsmans

Steelforce makes some that will fit the bill as well.

STOS fills the bill. I don't mind sharpening a little now and again; but that is not where it is at for me.

If you're having difficulty shooting other heads, the problem could well be weak arrow spine, and may not be fixed by changing broadheads; see, once I had weak arrows that wore STOS heads (3:1), and nothing I could do could get those arrows to fly true. Do your field-point arrows fly okay? Even with a weak arrow, they sometimes fly just fine, but it's when you stick a broadhead on that the weak arrow wanders way off target.

My fieldpoints fly great. It seems like that when I get drawn back and try concentrating my spot I still see the head in my periferel vision and that is what sometimes throws me off. Just was wondering if I should try more of a longer head (3 to 1) instead.

Try mounting the broadhead with the blade vertical... that way they'll all look the same.

Shoot your broadheads more. If you are bothered by the "peripheral look" of the broadhead, then you need to get use to it regardless of which head you use.

Thanks Charlie....That makes sense! Seems like some days I can "tune them out" and others I end up digging them out of trees!  :D

I had some difficulty with some broadheads shooting well consistently and then tried an elevated rest. Long story short, I can shoot any broadhead I want off the elevated rest.

I would also add that shooting  bh is really the ultimate test of whether or not your arrow spine is perfect. If your arrow spine is either borderline one way or the other shooting bhs consistently well can be the result of that. Try bare shaft shooting one of your shafts and see what happens.

Normally I draw the broadhead, which is threaded onto the arrow shaft across a lightly stretched out rubberband to see how sharp it is..it should cut the band.

With Ron sharpening the Grizzly, I can cut the band simply by dragging just the broadhead and the steel insert across the band....NO SHAFT. That is how sharp these are.

I had Ron do a dozen of those for me also.You couldn't ask for more.Just be careful with them.
