BossDog

My husband, Jack, aka BossDog, which incidentally came from the name of our half-mastiff 95# of personal protection, Boss, died July 1st after a long battle with COPD.  He was a proud firefighter 37 years before he retired about 12 years ago, long before the protective gear and breathing apparatus today's brave men and women wear.

I wanted to tell you how much he enjoyed this forum.  He loved the camaraderie, the kindness and good will which was so prevalent here, unlike many forums.  He posted occasionally, but he read it almost every day, and often referred to the information he got here.  He loved the sport of archery and was both a hunter and a target shooter.  The cover of the first issue of Primitive Archery pictured the first bow he ever built along with an arrow and flint arrowhead of his making.   As his health failed, he could shoot less and less, but about an hour before he went to the hospital for the last time, he was on the front porch shooting his bow.  He left it strung when he came in too weak and ill to unstring it.

I wanted to tell you all how much pleasure he derived from this forum these last few years. Thank you all.  He told us on his last lucid day that he'd always wondered about the dinosaurs and that he was going to ask God about them very soon.  We know he did and that he is at peace at last, and so are we.
