Tried this out today and it works good.  Take a woodsman and hollow grind it on a bench grinder with medium grit wheel.  Then I took it and ran it through one of those little Redi Edge sharpeners that Alaska Bowhunting supply sells.  Then I finished it up with circular motions on an Arkansas stone, and then stroping it on a piece of cardboard.  Shaves hair pretty easily.  I'm still trying to find a way to get a woodsman as shap as I can get a two blade head.  I can get it close...but I don't know if I could do like joebuck and shave my face with it!

I don't think I could have ever shaved my face with them, but with a file and a fine stone I could easily leave a bald strip down my arm.

I am with you Curtis flat out scares the heck out of me.  It apparently works very well though.

I've tried to sharpen Snuffer for the past 10 years using any off the wall portable device I could find or come across. Finally Just gave up and went to 4 blades...

A good file and in 5 minutes or less that ww will shave. No need for a bunch of other stuff unless you just feel you need to contribute to the economy.

Snuffer tamer has worked very well for me for 16 years

I use a belt sander to get the bevels straight, level, and even....then I drag from back to front over a diamond hone.  That edge has served me well.

I've never used a Snuffer tamer but want to try one to see if I can get them even sharper.

Flyfish1,  Does your method work for the Woodsman as well?  If it does, would you share it with those of us who can not sharpen anything?

The Snuffer Tamer is deadly.  About 2 minutes per head and you've got all the sharpness you'd ever need.  Shaves hair easily.

Ryan posted a tutorial how he and Roger use a grinder to sharpen the Snuffers...works good for Woodsmen too in my experience.  I've found when Roger does something, he has tried it a thousand other ways and it is best to follow his advice-I've never known him to be wrong

Charlie's method even worked wonders on my Montecs.

I've switched to Ace two blades and find the $5, yellow,'wally-world' sharpener, in the camping section does well. Works on my buck,too! It has a carbide and a ceramic 'v'.

Guys, it's really not too scarry to hollow grind a point on a grinder.  Wear safety glasses, and use common sense but it works great.  Heck a normal day or work exposes me to more hazards than that!  Since Guru is a union laborer also, I'm sure it is the same with him!  It works REALLY Well!

My hunting buddy Mike Robin (Bamboo) uses a stone on his Woodsmans...trust me, he counts every stroke and those heads are Scary Sharp. He really has the method down to a science.

I found that getting the bevels flat first on a file using Charlies method is great, and step one. When the bevels are uniform (based on removal of all the Sharpie ink) then I go to a coarse diamond, fine diamond, hard Arkansas, and finish on a leather or cardboard strop. Always going back to front with the head flat on the file or stones. Once the bevels are flat, you can re-sharpen with the diamond stones and Arkansas and strop. The key is progressive VERY LIGHT strokes as the blades become more and more sharp as you move to finer stones. When finished, hair pops off with just a light touch.
