Does anybody shoot four fletch with four inch feathers off the shelf?  If so, do you shoot straight or off-set fletchings?  Do you get good recovery when shooting broadheads?  Thanks.

I shoot four 5" off the shelf, RW offset and RW helical both.  Little bigger but four fletch none the less.  Fine with broadheads, no issues at all. dino

I shoot 4 inchers with a small amount of offset off the shelf with no problems. My setup is very well tuned though as I can bareshaft broadhhead tipped shafts and get almost perfect flight.

I shoot four 4" parabolics. RW, with a rw helical. No problems for me...I switched last year and must say I doubt I will ever shoot 3 fletch again...

I shoot 4 3" left wing offset fletch and have great arrow flight. If anything it has taught me to bareshaft and tune my bows better to allow the least amount of feather.

But once tuned I get great flight with my 47# widow. Once my new arrows come in ill letcha know how my 54# bow shoots em but so far the old halfway tuned arrows are shooting find

I shoot 4 ~ 5" and haven't had a problem yet. Should there be?

4 fletch with 4" RW shields, great flight even with real wide 2-blades...

Just to add a little to the ques. 90 X 90 or 60 x 120? Is one better than the other? Are your arrows nocked with the feathers up and down or an angle? I ordered feathers and want to try 4 fletch.

I've shot 75x105 and 90x90 and have settled on the 90x90.  Both shoot just great.  Mine are angled, so they look like an "X", not a "+".

I shoot RW 4x5inch off of a narrow elevated rest that is only the width of my 2219 shaft. If I don't elevate, the 75x105 will ware on the shelf. Mike

I shoot 4- 4" paras, set 90x90 off a small elevated bump rest.  Just build up the mole skin to make a small bump.  Great flight and won't be switching anytime soon.

4- 5" shield cut 60-120 off the shelf. No feather wear on the shelf and immediate stabilization of arrow out of the bow.

I shoot 4x4"@90 off the shelf and have for 40 years. I have experimented with other combinations but always come back to the 4x4"@90.

Don't you get the best fletching clearance with 60-120 4" 4 fletch? At least that's what Bitzenburger says...?
Anyone use the "jig setting gauge" tool they sell for setting up your jigs?

I've not had any clearance issues with regular 90x90 or 75x105, so haven't worried about it.  I think the clearance thing is an old compound cable issue.

I have a setting gauge for another fletching jig that works with my Bitz jigs just as well.  If you are trying to set up several jigs, it will get them close.

This might be a stupid question but do you guys see a noticeable loss in speed by adding a feather.  I'm right at my personal limit as far as tragectory is concerned with my 700 grain hickory's but am having a devil of a time getting them broadhead tuned.

I switched to 4x4x90 parabolic last fall. They fly great and if you need to load one up quickly they are always nocked right. mine look like X as well.

I have used 4X90 and the 75X105 and can shoot both without any problems. I shoot the 75X105 because the lower right feather (when on the string) looks to pass in the corner between the shelf and side plate perfectly. As I said though, the 4X90's would shoot just as good.

I shot 5.5 inch 3 fletch for years...always got good  flight even when soaking wet.  

Tried the 4 fletch 5 inch and liked it...after a couple of seasons switching back and forth...I decided to leave my fletcher set for the 5 inch 4 fletch since they also performed well even soaking wet...for one main reason....fast nocking....hog hunting can be pandemonium at times.

My favorite: 4" left wing four fletch, 90x90, helical parabolic or shield.
