  what starting wood arrow spine range would you guys suggest for a 66", 65#@28.5" dryad soothsayer longbow?  I'm looking to shoot 125 grains up front with cedar shafts.  Also, would cedars be heavy enough for this draw weight or would I have to move to birch or maple for safety considerations? I'm looking to get about 9 grains/lb(585 grains) of total arrow weight.

I would guess 70/75 or 75/80,depends on what length you would want to end up with!!  I shot 70/75 ceaders off my monarch LB 58@28 and i draw 29" the tip weights were heaver at 190gn and these are cut at 30.25" and weigh 685gn!  most likely75/80 with 125gn tip  there's a spine chart for wood arrows on bager arrow web page(sponser on here)these charts are usually pretty close!! hope this helps!! A good starter would be 75-80 but you might need to bump up to 80-85.  I shoot 70-75 tapered cedar 29" long and with 125 grain heads I get 560 grains.  I would think you would not have a problem getting 600 or so out of parrallel shafts with 125 grains up front.

75/80 with the 125 gr head. 80/85 with a head over 145 gr. Leave your arrow 29.5 to bop.

Matt, is the Soothsayer a wood/bamboo backed composite?  How far out from center is it cut?  Are you drawing it the full 28.5"?

You should have no problem getting 585 gr with cedar or fir and these are both very "safe" arrow woods.  Maple or birch are going to move you up to 700+ grains.
