I got to do some shooting with saltwatertom last night on his range behind the house. It was fun. Tom's one of those one bow guys, so he really smokes the targets with his Dalaa.

We also had supper of fresh clams, fresh salmon, and black bear! In addition to being a great shot, Tom is one heck of a cook! Good thing I don't have to weigh in to get on the plane!

We also got within 50 yards of a young bull moose near the visitor center in Homer. Cool!

I'll post some pics of it when I get a chance. On battery power now, so I have to keep it short.

One bit of advice...go to Alaska at least once. It is a great place to visit.

Tom in Homer?, dollar to a doughnut you'll meet Dave while your here too. If you get north and inland I have a range in the yard too, always like too host a trad archer who is lucky enough to be visiting.

woulda made it but it was a long day on the water... clamming with tom and a hawaiin buddy off another forum, then pulled the crab pot,  but since the family is outside (lower 48) i had to get home and take care of the critters and i live far enough out i don't usually get back in once i'm home... of course tom neglected to mention in his message that he was hosting a fellow tradganger....
darn!
tell me how close you got, not how far you shot

We had a great visit with some new tradgang friends, it was just too short! Russ and I shot a round on my makeshift "3D" course behind the house, not only is he a really good shot (using a borrowed bow and arrows to fill in the gaps in my groups) but he even taught me a few things about archery too. Tradgang is a gift that keeps on giving!! It seems that ghis wife had a good time too enjoying unrelated interests here.

I think we may have him talked into coming back to chase more fish and maybe hunt some black bear some day.   :campfire:

I love Alaska! Guess I owe Russ a doughnut!

Please tell me you took him by Laurence's place for a glass of mead?

PS I leave for a Bou trip on the slope the 5th, I'll be in Homer barring "gifts" very shortly after my return.
