I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

Well, few years back, I did almost same thing.  Except wife didn't give me the money, wink.  I shot a black widow, a striker, a great northern, tomahawk, etc....     I bought a Bear montana from a guy down on his luck and loved it.  I bowfish and have shot several deer with a shakespeare, which for me is probably the best recurve made.  Then for the money, I bought a Howard Hill "Redman", wow.  It is every bit as good as the Montana, and more forgiving and for a few bucks more well worth it.  Like already said Archery is a very personal sport.  there have been countless animals harvested with a 2nd hand bow.  Price does not always dictate quality.

Sounds like a plan.  "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

You did good

If your happy thats all that matters! High price tags doesnt nessarly mean better quality

Congrats on the bow, and all of the additional stuff that you were able to get because of it.

That is why I started building my own bows. I wanted a nice custom recurve but knew I'd never be able to justify spending a months pay on one.

Now I only shoot my own bows and have some money left over for other hunting needs. I think it was a good choice for you.
