biglegmax: Thanks for taking care of my stuff!
Perhaps you might bring my stove and lantern to Ted's sometime and I can get it from there. Hope that works for you.

biglegmax

Bjorn, hope you are still in town. I will drop it by Ted's tomorrow.

Tyler, the stars must have been in the right position that day! I wish we would have signed up for some coaching that day also... we might be shooting like Hill, instead of He__.... !!!!

I'd just like to say that to be apart of this has truly been gratifying. To see all you guys progress in the right direction was amazing. You did come with open minds and you followed Rod's lead. Why to go guys!      :campfire:

I am sporting a rather sore nose this morning! I need one of those "nose bandaids"! In my blind bale session yesterday I got to 5yds and started leaning my head into the bow to look over the arrow and whack!!! That got my attention! Back to 3yds. Kurt, I understand that saying too well! haha  But I know how to correct it. It is part of my shot sequence-alignment!!!

It was an Honor to meet you guys, and shoot with you..Brian

Thanks for posting this Brian. Pretty good job of picture taking considering you had to run from the camera and jump in the picture! haha

If any of you men want to make your own Formaster for practically nothing, check out the tutorial I posted on the Shooters Forum with a title of "Want to make your own Formaster?).

There is also an excellent youtube video posted over there by onesharpbroadhead regarding the use of the Formaster.

Of course, Masters of the Barebow III has great info and footage of the device.

Wow....what can I say ! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with everyone at the great Oregon clinic!  :notworthy:    :notworthy:

The highlight for me was watching all the light bulbs come on and the grins appear! Just a great group of guys!

Thanks to all who made this happen and I'll post more after I return home.

Adam and I came home from the session and decided to shoot a few thru the chrono to see what the bottom line might be. We shot the same 50# bow and 600 gn arrows to eliminate variables. I gained about 8 fps from my new draw length-so that seems pretty good-no sacrifice in accuracy.
However, Adam has mastered the 'expansion' and the release.
Even though his draw is over one inch less than mine(Adam is 15) his arrows fly faster-think about that. Less draw, less power, same bow, same arrow-faster arrow speed. What is going on?
Adam's arrows gained over 20 fps as a result of attending Rod and Emily's clinic! And his accuracy is just as good as before and getting better.
Guys and gals; if you haven't sheduled yourself for one of these clinics-do so; but leave your kid at home! LOL!!

It just keeps getting better..
I tried three under tonite,Instantly knew that it's for me..My draw was easier and smoother, It was much easier to get to my anchor and pull through.. And i don't know how much , But i am sure i just got a little MORE!!! draw length, My arrows are penetrating several inches more now..
Something else is clicking ,,I had no idea how sweet a bow could perform when tuned properly and shot sorta properly..
I am definitely starting to appreciate what a nice bow i have, And what it can do..

snag

Bjorn, that's very revealing! Those young pups! haha

Runamuk, the fun continues....

One thing I thought of when I saw how quiet our bows became when we pulled through the shot...we stick string silencers on our bows and talk about our noisy this bow or quiet this bow is...how much of all this is really just how poorly we shoot? It is so easy to blame the tool for not doing the job. When really we should be looking at how we are using it. Thanks Rod.

I stepped back to 15 yards and took some shots with 3 under and was very pleased with my groups.
But i was hitting about 5 inches low of my intended target,,So i moved my arrow above my nock point and was only about 2 inches low..
should i keep moving my nock point up until i am dead on?? is there a limit on how much higher i can go and still get good performance??
Also should i have two nock points on my string and place the arrow between them??
Thanks for any input..

snag

I wouldn't move your nock point at all. If you are getting good arrow flight with the original nock pt. don't move it. That is where the arrow likes to be shot from. Now, as far as, where the arrow hits that's up to you. You have the arrow closer to your eye with 3 under so it will hit lower than when shooting split. You have to adjust how you aim or, for those who supposedly don't aim, how your sight picture looks in relation to the arrow.

Thanks Snag ,, after reading my post i realized just how lame those questions are..

snag

There are no lame questions...only lame answers! haha  If we don't ask, we don't know.

snag

Hi Emily, I dropped your Dad a note to tell him you represented the TerMaat name well!    Also had some questions for him about his bows. Glad you had a good time and enjoyed your stay. I heard you are a "steelheader" now! They fight a bit don't they?

Dick in Seattle

I finally got out and did some practice today.  I must be doing something right.  Muscles I never knew I had in my back are hurting and saying "Oh, you wanted us to help!?"   Actually, it felt good.  I had lots of "less thans", but I could feel the good ones and I'll keep working on that.

I've had a hard time coming back from the weekend.  I really screwed myself up and it's going to take a few more days to get properly back under control.  No excuses, pure stupidity.  Hope to be back up to par for the TBW shoot next weekend.

Paul WA

Sounds like all had a great time. Just wondering how many are sporting a Band-aid from their new anchor point?...PR 8^)

:wavey:

I had a session with Paul WA at a local range yesterday and was proudly displaying my new anchor point which I had marked with a band-aid.   :D

BTW, watching Paul shoot made me think that he had just taken Rod's class. He had great form with that 29" draw and he even touches the top of his shoulder upon conclusion like Rod.
