A Howard Hill Wesley Special--55#@28".  It is a sweet shooter and extremely quiet.  It was previously owned by a fellow TG'r from Georgia I think.  I saw a picture of the exact same bow (same serial number) as I searched for info on the Wesley Special posted on Trad Gang about a year ago.  He then sold it to a man in Arizona who found his way into my business in SW Colorado.  He in turn traded it to me for an 870 shotgun.  His shoulder had gotten bad and he couldn't shoot it anymore.  I got a great deal on the bow and hopefully he's happy with his new shotgun.

That's the bow that started my love affair with the straight longbows.  She's a killer to!  I killed two the day I killed this one, but I can only locate one photo.

Yes, that's the exact same bow in Apex Predator's pig photo above.  I was searching for info on the Wesley Special and ran across a picture he posted with the same serial number as the bow in my picture above.  It's nice to know it's already drawn blood.  Now maybe a mule deer or elk will fall to this bow.  It just surprised me to see the same bow in a post on Trad Gang just about a year before I traded for it here in Colorado--small world!

I suppose it's a good trade if you both are happy.   ;)

BTW, can I see a pic of the shotgun?   :knothead:

I found the other pig photo.  She definitely has "mojo".

In my opinion, you definitely got the better end of the deal. But, as was said, if you both were happy. My congrats to you!

Well the gentleman who traded with me had a nice bow he couldn't shoot with a bad shoulder and I had a nice tactical Remington 870 shotgun he could use to protect himself, his family, and his home.  I still have plenty of shotguns and now I have one more longbow to add to my ever-growing collection.  My guess is he feels like he got a pretty good deal as well.

I'm going outside to shoot it right now.

You got that for an 870?  Express or Wingmaster?  Doesn't really matter - you came out on top of that deal.  Nice one.

In addition to hunting with it - you now have a much quieter home defense weapon.  Bonus!

:D
