Shaun, You got it buddy, next year for St. Jude

Joe, I'll never be able to thank you enough buddy    :notworthy:

Whip, When I see them everyday it's hard to notice how they change sometimes. But when I start going thru some picture files, it's amazing how much they've grown up. Thank you!

thanx for all the kind words guys....with patience it's amazing how much they catch on....

on with the show.....

With the nocks glued and the Fletch-Tite Platinum given time to set up. I showed him how to load up the Jo-Jan multi fletcher. Making sure the indexers were all in the same spot and the nocks all the way into them......

Then I showed him how to load the feathers in the clamp, keeping them all on the line drawn to keep them even. Then how to run the glue and set the clamps and he went at it......

Over the next day or so he got them all glued on, then I just put a little dab of glue on the front and back of the feather quill.

More later.....

Thanx again fellas, I hope we can inspire some others to do the same. And I hope I'm explaining the steps good enough to get some guys started building wood arrows. If anyone has any questions, just ask.

Now it was time for one of the steps he was looking forward to...using the torch to glue on his points     :scared:      :(

Again, I showed him and helped a lot with this step, but tried to let him do as much as he wanted to. I watched closely and stayed close by.....

Showed him how to melt the glue stick and wipe some glue on the taper, then grab the  point with a pair of pliers...heat the point up and put it over the taper and pushing it on while spinning around a couple times to even out the glue and holding till the glue starts to cool off.....

He was a little tentative, and grabbing and holding with the pliers was something he hasn't done much of, but he did ok and got them done. He'd hand them to me and I'd get off the extra glue around the base of the point. We did 2 hex blunts, 2 judos, and 2 field points....

After the points cooled off he was quick to get them into his quiver and it was time for the fun part! Let's go shootin'!

The maiden voyage....

Of course his sister had to get in on the action. Here she is shooting her new pup recurve. She's had it for a few months, but is just now getting strong enough to shoot it.....

My secret shooting method I've passed on to both of my kids.....

One last one of Cade to finish it off....

Thanx for following along......

Looking good Curt...  Way to pass it along...

Glad to see Emma Mae's arrows getting some flight time...

Out of curiosity... what's that bow Cade's shooting... really like the lines and my boy's needing an upgrade...
