Well, after a busy couple weeks and alot of forgetfullness and procrastination on my part, I finally called Larry last night to talk some about our upcoming elk hunt........

Really looking forward to this hunt and the pics he posted a couple weeks ago really amped things up!

He talked a little about what to expect: how he'd be calling a bull up and steering him to me in regards to the wind, how the bull would come Screaming in    , how to try to keep the nerves under control  :eek:  , and then making the shot-----the part that got me: " and that's all there is too it, no big deal"!!    
I'm really looking forward to this and could never repay his generosity, that's for sure!!

Well, I gotta get hiking---had to take 3 weeks off because of a foot injury---talk about lousy timing----and gotta get my edge back......

i'll be keeping "the gang" posted............

Your elk shot will be a lot closer than 10 yards, real easy to hit if you can keep from going catatonic when you are so close you smell him and his eyes are bugging out.

Just try to remember that elk tastes really good!

Just to improve you nerviousness,,,Remember when the "Big Sucker" comes into the call,  [ Cow call or Bugle ].... He's just got one or two things on his mind, FIGHTING and or BREEDING

just keep in mind there ben that the bull will reach you before me and by the time he gets to me you should have him pretty tired from chasin yer butt around a well selected ponderosa,by then he'll be a cream puff and may even pose while i stick an arrow in him.theres a reason ya know why carl is my ex'''huntin buddy          :D    :D  harrrrr
