I am trying to tune arrows for my new Mojo.  It seems to want a lot stiffer arrow than I thought it would.  What are you shooting for arrow set-up and what poundage at your draw length?

Currently my set-up is:

56" Mojo
54# @28" pulling 28"
GT trad 5575 30" with 175 on the front.  I plan to go to 225 on front and cut down some yet, but don't want to finalize until I am sure I have the correct spine.

I have also shot a couple other shafts and lengths of shafts with various point and insert weight combinations to test my findings. Every combo I try seems to want to head to the 67-68# dynamic spine based on the spine calculator.  It seems to be at least 10# heavier spine than I come up with for the bow.

I am just curios if this is typical for the Mojo.

I have a Mojostik 60" 60# @29 (I draw 29)  I get great flight and groupings with 2219, 30" with 150 grains up front.  Plus, the 2219's really rock the bag when they hit.  I can't wait to see what they do to a deer.  I have never tried carbons, so I cannot help you there.

I have a 58" 54# @28, which would be 57@29, that bow likes 2216's cut to 30" with 150 grains up front.

You might want to try some 2216's... unless you are dead set on carbons.

I shoot POC's cut to 28" with a 125 gr. point spined 55-60#.  My Mojo is 50 @ 28 pulling 27 3/4"

Rufus thanks for the info.  When I run your numbers on both your bows I find they like a stiff arrow also.  All things considered the three bows are very close to how much dynamic spine they like over the bow weight.

I know what you mean about hard hitting.  They sure do shoot hard and flat compared to other bows I have and have shot.  I have been out to 30 yd shooting and still haven't really had to think about consciously holding high.

I changed up my grip a little and got a little stiffer shooting arrow so a little hand torque was part of it, but so far this bow likes stiff arrows.

Thanks for the info, but I don't know much about wood arrows.  :knothead:

I shoot something really similar. POC cut to 28.5 with a 125 gr tip spined at 60-65, drawing 28+. The Mojostik is 46@28.
