Wanted to know if anyone has ever used muck hunting boots if so could you tell me the pros and cons of these boots. do they keep ya warm are they comfortable are they heavy and are they to hot in october?? also what model boot do you suggest??  thanks for any info

spotteddog

I have a pair of wetlands and woody max both pair are very comfortable they are not real heavy .we hunt in Burkesville KY I wear my wetlands 85% of the time because the woody max burn my feet up and they like to eat socks hope this helps Philip

Yes, love the Mucks.  You can save $10 or more if you go with black instead of the camo. They fit good, not heavy, warm,  and one of the best parts is the neoprene uppers allow easy on and off.  I only use in our late hunts, but I expect they will be pretty hot in early fall hunts.

i have a pair that were made into hip waders.  i had them on for 10 hours today  in some pretty nasty stuff and my feet feel fine.  great product.  they are a little hot for this time of year though

Best boots I've ever put on for hunting.  They let my feet breathe, which keeps them cooler AND warmer.

I wear mine from Sept. to Feb, here....and when they wear out I'll replace them with a duplicate pair.  The neoprene upper allows you to roll down the top (cooler).

Love'em. I have the Woody Max I think. Wear them all hunting season. Just wore them in Quebec a few weeks ago for a bear hunt. Didn't notice too much warmth or sweating.

I really like my my wetlands....

But,these are brown neoprene...so yes in warm weather they get hot, and your feet will sweat if walking.

Very comfortable, pretty light for rubber boots...

thanks  for all your help  looks like Im going to get a pair this weekend

I love mine, but like everyone says they are for late season, or your feet will sweat bad, I also like that you can roll them down when your in camp or not hunting, lets the bottom of your legs get some air and breathe....

Cherokee Scout

Great boots, light weight, waterproof, easiest to get on on off and fit guys with big calves very well.

Love 'em! For cold weather hunting, be sure to get the insulated model, which also has a much better grip on the sole than the standard. I hunt lions in 20-below weather in mine. Don

I have a pair of the wetlands and really like them.  I used them in my December elk hunt in Michigan.  We had 3 ft of snow and temps in the teens but my feet were toasty warm and comfortable.  I think they might be too warm for October hunting though.

kbetts

I have the hip version.  Great for walking through wet vegetation but a little noisy when pulled down.  Very durable outer layer.

How well do they wear over time?  I just wore out some Lacrosse neoprene upper mud boots that cost me $80.  They only lasted 6 months hunting the swamps!
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

Had mine for several years now and they are still going strong.  No cracks, great for walking, very comfortable.

Best overall rubber hunting boot I've ever had.  I greatly prefer them over anything Lacross makes.  I've had my pair for a good 4 years and they are still going strong.
