This past April 11th, I harvested my first bow killed turkey.  I have been told that this is the first one taken with traditional equipment in Delaware (modern season obviously).  What makes this so special (as if it wasn't special enough) is that it happened on the same farm that I took my first deer on.  As did my father and my brother and hopefully someday my daughter.  We do not own the property and I will forever be in debt to the owner.  He is in his 80's now and the future of the farm is undetermined. When I told him what I had done, he was so happy you would have thought he had done it himself. Thank you Warren Pettyjohn.
I shot the turkey with a 61# Black Widow, a 2018, and a 125gr. Razorcap at twenty paces.  It had rained all morning but I made a break for the ground blind around 8:30.  He was down by 10 and then it started raining again.
I need help posting the pics.  I was hoping someone might give me a hand if I e-mail them.

Way to go! My son and I were just down in Seaford the end of last month visiting friends there. We both love the area with all the open farm land and small wood lots. We saw quite a few deer during our last trip. Maybe next time we visit Seaford we could shoot together.

Maybe the pictures were not the correct size. TradGang has a certain size limit pictures can be or else they pull them off the site.

Guess this should have gone on the 2009 Highlights.  Sorry.

Congrats! Didn't see the pics but turkeys are great. I have become a huge advocate of head shots. Did you head or body shoot it? I would tell everyone I know to only take head shots. They are either dead or missed. I used a Magnus Bullhead with devastating results on SD turkeys this spring. I am a believer.

Finally got it.  Hope you enjoy.
