After I crest my arrows I like to seal the cresting by dipping the arrow again. I install the small plugs I got from Three Rivers in the ends of the carbon shaft and dip the shaft.
 Now here is the problem the sealer runs down the shaft and some of it drips off but it always seems to build up on the end or collect there so the end of the shaft has a mushroom effect.
I'm sealing it with Min Wax  polycrylic.
 What are you doing to stop this ?

Sounds like the poly is to thick, it should run off the shaft for at least 15-20 seconds then start to drip.  If you are only wanting to seal the cresting try brushing on some Watco Lacquer.

Can you thin the poly with something ?

I just looked up the product on the Min Wax website. They do not recommand thinning the product. Clean up is with warm water.
You can try mixing some water in a small batch of the product and see what happens when you dip. I use broken shafts for trail runs.

Will the Watco Lacquer work on Rustoleum,and Bohning paints ?

On my woods I crest with Sharpie pens, then spray a very light coat of clear lacquer or acrylic over the cresting. It protects the cresting from rubbing off, but you have to be careful with fletching glue compatibility with the spray. I crest an area under the fletching too, and last time I used the wrong spray for my gasket lacquer and had to reglue a bunch of them when they popped off. I used superglue, should have used duco. The superglue worked fine the time before, with a different kind of spray. From now on I'll stick with the duco, or just not spray the fletching area.

I don't use Rustoleum so I'm not sure if it's compatable with the Watco.  I have dipped and brushed the Watco onto shafts that have been dipped in Bohning.  I use nothing but Bob Burtons cresting paint.
