G'Day Ben,

Fine looking bow and I am glad that "the formula" is working for you. When I shot wood it always worked for me. Just something I picked up over 40 years ago from an oldtimer that helped me get started in this wonderful sport. Still got some wood arrows I shoot sometimes on special hunts.

Yes, Pat, the BW is a quicker design; but I like Hill bows for their magic, and they are still plenty fast enough for pass-throughs and good penetration. At the moment, the arrows I have for it are about 9gpp, and there is a little thump, which I don't mind. Soon, I hope to rig-up some heavier arrows using the front-loading jig. I'm glad you enjoyed the yarn! Thanks!

Danny, that formula works well, and my mates who are getting into wooden arrows are using it with success, too! Thanks again!

i'm convinced that, at least for me, an aggressive r/d longbow (a 'hybrid') is somewhat harder for me to control than a mild r/d (like a mohawk) or a reflex only (like a hill).  these d braced classics have an inherent 'stability' that i prefer.  ymmv!

I just figured out what the Formula would place my Hill bow at for spine, and it works out EXACTLY as I found it by bare shaft tuning.
