I still really like the looks of the red stag and i like the clear glass on the deerslayer.

I like that little Recon riser.  Very sharp looking.  Pair it w/ a set of ILF longs, should make a snazzy little hunting bow.

I agree Chris....that could be a really sweet combination.  More US bowyers should look into risers, and even limbs with ILF fittings.  The concept is certainly not new, but it has not even come close to full development as far as the bowhunter goes.

Samick has developed some great limbs and risers, and the top models are not cheap.  Bowyers here could really add some variety if they cared to do that.  It looks like Sky Archery's new owner will be getting into such an endeavor.  Hopefully he won't be the only one.
I know Bob Morrison made a riser...don't know about limbs.

Chris Wilson

I do believe Bob is making limbs as well.

I just picked up the Samick Red Stag and I'm real happy about it. It was a much better bow than what I was expecting. Keep in mind this isn't a custom bow with exotic woods. For me, I was looking for a solid backup to my Saluki. After adjusting the brace height, the bow went dead quiet even though I was using light carbon arrows. I also feel the bow shoots faster than what I would of thought it would. For me this bow will be my beat it up bow, I'll take it everywhere I don't want my Saluki to go. But I really think this is an outstanding bow for anyone starting out.

Yep Chris, Bob does make limbs....my bad.  I think as more folks get into the nearly endless variety of bows you can make with a couple risers and limb sets, these will become more attractive to the average bowhunter...especially with the good looking, short wood risers.  That Recon riser is looking good, as does the Morrison.

ILF for the bowhunter is just beggining to really shine.  If we can get Martin/Howatt to introduce some intermediate hunting limbs in the ILF setup it would give us  a few more U.S. options.

Has anyone shot the one piece version of the Red Stag?I think that is a nice looking bow.If it came in a 62" version I would have already bought one myself.Still might have to get one after I hear about what others think of them.  :)

Also how about the Red Stag longbow?I would like to see more about it.The small pictures on the websight does not show a lot.

Got the highlander for the wife but had to work on the handle as it was too big.
Got the deer master for myself and love it. Small handle for my small hands. Wife likes how it feels also.
Got it just a cpl months ago but have already  put a few thousand arrows through it. No problems yet.
When you feed the hobby to 5 ppl sometimes ya have to go cheap :-)

It's not letting it go through because it's a link to the auction site.  Gary's archery is a store there.  You know the one, starts with an E and ends with a Bay.
