No blood trail on this one. 65 lb bob lee with a 2 bladed grizzly. Cracked the vertebrae going in and coming out.

Some of you might remember this blood trail that was from a 6x6 bull that I lost after jumping him out of his bed 14 hours later, as you can see there is foam and 2 holes, grizzly 190, 60lb Habu

It's still a mystery what happen.

60lb Habu 300xtreme this is where the arrow landed after the pass though.

Step one: Hope he comes in..

Step two: Know that I made a perfect shot even though we could not find a speck of blood until this...

Step three: What?? We were lucky and happened to look up.. My bear climed a tree and got it's hind paw caught falling out dead.. What a day in Alberta.

This is a neat thread!

It was amazing that day.. Never in my life have I needed to look "up" trying to recover an animal.  Heres a short clip of Robbie (the guide) trying to get my bear down..

I apologize I didn't add my info..

Alberta black bear killed May 14, 2008 with a 55# SKY Rogue longbow with a homemade POC and Zwickey Eskimo 2 blade. The POC zipped pass through the bear and buried itself in the moss. I looked longer for the arrow than the bear and never did find it.
How I love Zwickey's!

Great thread.

There is just something special about hunting in the snow.

18 yard shot - straight through the heart.

A complete pass through the hog into the snow. Cutting one rib on entrance and another one on the exit.

Down after 13 yards.

ARROW: Footed Carbon Express/Heritage 250
Broadhead:G5 Striker/125 gr
Total arrow weight: 550 gr.

BOW: Black Douglas TD
Amo: 58
Lbs: 58 (on the fingers)

some pics have been posted before, hope that will be no problem.

Congrats to all happy hunters out there.    :campfire:
