Hi Folks,

first i wanted to thank one Tradganger, who´ll now when he reads this, for the easy enjoyable selling one of his bows to me. thanks for youre efforts, its a beauty!

SECOND i wanted to ask all those who know theire way round with alloy arrows.
THe new bow is a 50# recurve, i draw 53,4# @ my 29" draw (meassured). I shoot with a dacron string.
I tried 2216 Easton Legacyies in 29 and a half inches with 125gr. upfont. They shoot well though you notice they are heavy. I get good groupings and hit well BUT doing a papertuning, they behave to heavy in spine.
I also tried some 2314 in 30" and they were perfect in paper tuning and slightly silencer with the bow, i hit slightly more inconcistent.

What should i do?

I thought about adding point weight to the 2216s but i want to have field points in the same weight, so iam already on top.

THX for help and sugestions!

Hi saumensch,

There is a lot of things you could do, I'll list a few.

Fast flight string.
2215 arrow.
145 grain tip.
leave your arrow longer.

The 2314 is going in the wrong direction, you want to go to a smaller diameter shaft for hunting ( better penetration )

Keep testing until you come up with the right arrow for your bow and your stile of shooting.

Try a 2016 with a few different point weights and you should find the magic set-up.

Thanks KINGWOULdBE, i dont wana use FF because its an old bow, ill consider the rest.

Vermonster13, you sure? i used 2016 on my 45# longbow and so i figured theyd be to light in spine??

I shoot them off of several FF bows in the same to a little heavier weight as your's and they do fine.

Glad you like the bow Axel. It was a pleasure doing business with you too. Hope you find the right arrows. I used Carbon express heritage 150s, 30 inches long with 145 gr points and weight tubes (3 gr per inch). Worked for me...
