Finished this one this morning.  She is 62" NTN, and draws 57@28.  Osage and walnut riser with maple accents.  This beauty has an edge grain hickory core, curly hickory limb faces, and antler tips.  She is a good shooter!  I'm gonna try a power lam on the next one to try and move the bend out of the fades just a little.

Marty, they just get better and better. Like the swoop of walnut in the riser...great job!!!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Awesome.  Marty, what is your take on hickory as a core wood?

JRY309

Sweet looking bow,it's going to look even better as the osage ages!

Like Ron W said, every one seems to get better, I am envious. Fantastic work Marty!

I shot this one before finishing, but the owner doesn't want it shot again until he picks it up.  I'll post the results and comparison to a similiar action-boo cored bow after we compare the two tomorrow evening.

Marty your talent for making these things is amazing - you're getting really, really good at it, bud.

Apex, what do you mean when you say power lam? just curious.
I don't have a problem.  I can quit deer hunting anytime I want.

I agree your bows look awesome for no longer than you have been building them. Love those tips on your bows. That makes or breaks a bow for me sometimes. Flint

Thanks for the compliments folks!

A power lam is a short lam that extends just a few inches past the riser fadeouts, which serves to move the bend in the limb out from the riser.
