Some one is really smiling down on me as I drew an Idaho moose tag for unit 1-1.  I don't know what the odds are but I got lucky!

I will be heading over there the end of the month for a look-see and to get a feel for the situation.

So any help or information is appreciated !!

And it is always beneficial to know who to stay away from and that info is appreciated in a private email.

Thanks,

Smiling Bob

Congratulations Bob, that is awesome!!!    Good luck and make sure to take plenty of pictures for us moose hunter wannabes!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

You are a lucky dog I have been trying for 2 years now I guess I just have to wait my turn and earn my points. How long have you been applying? Oh well congrats on the tag and lots and lots of luck on the hunt.

Bob, know the area well, just 30 minutes from the house. I had a cow moose permit there in 2005. Would be happy to help you out.
Did you get the long season or the two week one? Mike

Congrats, that is only a dream for most!

What rig are you taking after those bohemoths?
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!

Good on you Bob, make sure you take a ton of pic's, enjoy my friend.

THANKS all for your support!  Where else but TG could you find such valuable information.

BIG THANKS !! to Larry Fisher and Jesse!!

I will post equipment I am going to use at a later date.  Interesting time to check the new WW??

Mike, its the long season Sept 15 through Nov and I have been advised to really focus on the rut...which conflicts with my elk season...but if you are going to have problems this is the kind to have!!  WOW! 30 minutes from home, all information appreciated.  Perhaps you could PM me?

Thanks again.

Bob

Bob,

I ran into a nice moose in Idaho unit 37 last year (2008.  That is the area just north of May, ID in mountains to the north of the Pasimeroi River Valley.  I got to spend 30 memorable minutes 12 yards from him, but of course I had no Moose tag in my pocket.  My hunt buddy had the foresight to shoot a photo with both me and Bullwinkle together.

The experiance of being so close to such a large animal was very exciting and tops my list of animals that I did not shoot but enjoyed none-the-less.  Not every animal needs to be put on the ground to have enjoyed and satiated my needs as a hunter.
