I need to know if there is a way to remove inserts from goldtip arrows they were glued with crazy glue.I want to install brass inserts. thanks for your help.

pitbull

Screw a point into the insert, hold the point with pliers, apply heat to the tip of the point (not on the shaft) and the insert will pull out when it gets warm enough.

KentuckyTJ

Ouch...Try heating them and then placing the field point in a vice and carefully pull on the shaft.

This is another method I use first is to remove the nock and find a drill bit that just fits inside the shaft. And then whip the shaft towards the floor to nock the insert out from the backside, acts like a reverse slide hammer.I wad up a blanket to catch the insert and bit when it comes flying out.I try this first because I don't have to use any heat, works great. But sometimes nothing will get them out not even heat without causing damage.

JRY309's method worked like a charm for me.
Think I used a 1/4" metal bit.

rollin

Just checked and 1/4" is a little to large must of used a #7.

thanks to all ILL get to work

Internal diameter on those shafts is a.246 so you will need something smaller then 1/4in, but the drill bit or rod will work with super glued inserts, not as well with epoxy though!  Mark
