Howdy all-
I have just gotten a great feeling Bighorn recurve, early 90s model, 60" and 55@29. What kind of brace height have you guys found are the best for this particular model?

7 1/2 to 8 1/2 measured from the face of the shelf not the bottom of the grip.  Asbell says to start out low were the bow vibrates after the shot and then bring it up until you hit the sweet spot.  The bow will smooth out and shot the best just past the point were it stops vibrating.

I braced mine about 6 3/4 from the string to the face of the shelf, that would be about 7 1/4, maybe a little more, to the deepest part of the throat.  Don't have them anymore, but several 60-and 62-inch takedowns shot very well for me at that brace height.

7 1//2 shoot best for me out of my 99 model .Troy

I have a 1989 model with the cruved limb bed, and the instructions that came with it states 6 1/4 to 7 1/2 measured to the face of the shelf as others have stated. Mine is normally around 6 1/2 to 6 5/8.
