wondering if there is a difference between using short vs long

do the long ones sit better than the short ones?

Plan on using some 155 grain tuskers and don't really want to pay John at tusker $1.xx per head to put on the adapters when I can just as easily do it myself and save some money over a dozen or so.

Also if the long ones are better, what is the best place to buy the zwickey long hollow ones that weigh 36 grains.

Kevin Lawler

Short is four use with bleeder blades. I always struggled to get them on straight. With long ones it was easier to align the head.

Go with the long adapters.  Your heads will align better and probably be stronger.

Do you spin your heads after mounting?

I'm not putting up with this guys shit and dogging me.

I just got 3 dozen Zwickey 36 grain 11/32" long broadhead adapters from Bowhunters Superstore. They work great. I always spin my broadheads while the glue is still soft and hasn't set yet. This makes the arrow spin true. I'm getting ready to use the adapters on the 155, 190 grain Tusker Concordes and 145 grain STOS.

Go with the long bha and make sure they are 11/32. they do offer 5/16 which are slimmer and work fine with lighter glue on heads that are 5/16 diameter. The short bha work fine with the old Bear Razorheads where enough room is needed to fit the bleeder blades.

i think i will order some of the zwickey hollow points either from bowhunterssuperstore or directly from zwickey

Bowmania, you need to make sure the broadhead is perfectly aligned on the insert before the glue sets.  Slow set epoxy is the normal glue used and will give you plenty of time to align them, just make sure they don't wander off before the glue sets.  I haven't installed BH's on adapters in years, but always used a V-groove jig or spinner to make it faster and more accurate.

I'll always remember the first set I did, just glued in some short adapters thinking they would automatically align.   :knothead:    They made the prettiest corkscrews as they flew past the targets.        Ruined 6 new Pearson Switchblades.   :banghead:
