I'm trying to decide which shaft to get for my new recurve bow.  50lb @ 28" (my draw).  I will shoot a 175 BH and plan on front load with 100gr insert. My total weight should be right around 600 if my math is correct.  From what I can figure I may be right on the boarder line between the 150 and 250 carbon express heritage shafts.  I'm somewhat new to this and would like the opinions of those who know.  Thanks

Since it is recurve and centershot I would lean toward the 250. If you were using less point weight a 150 might work.

I shoot 150s with 100gr inserts   @30" legnth and up to 250gr broadheads they fly verywell I SHOOT a Kempf Stealth recurve @ 50 lbs,, I also have 250s but they are a tad stiff for a 50ish lb bow ,, good luck but allways you should bare shaft tune before settling on arrow how long to leave arrows carbons chang spline lots with only a inch cut off  

From today's experience I say 250.

I shoot the Heritage 90's out of that kind of poundage, with a  175 grain point. The others are WAY too stiff.

I shoot 150's out of my 60" recurve....52# @ my DL.  I've got a 50gr insert with a 125gr tip.  Works fine.

Every bow and shooter is different, you might need anywhere from a 150 to a 350 with your setup. You really should bareshaft or use the Adcock tuning method to know for sure which spine is right for you.

Most of my bows need a weaker spined shaft than most people use. For example a 55# BW for me needs a 29" 150 with a 190gr point. But my 43# ACS CX can shoot the same shaft with a 125gr point.

I have quite a bit of experince with your weight and draw, but not with Heritage 150/250.  If you mentioned the spine of those two arrows more people could chime in.

Do yourself a favor and buy one of each shaft size. Try both, then you'll know.  I shoot the 250 with 56lbs, 30", 200 grains up front and I think you'll want the 150, but there are lots of variables.  Not sure who's selling single shafts these days, but I got mine from Sipsey River before the change of hands. Well worth shipping on a couple of shafts to find out which suits you better. good luck.

How far cut to center and string diameter has a big impact.  I am showing weak with CE 150's on a 45# bow.  But my setup is a bit different from most.  You just have to try things out... its the nature of this hobby.  It is possible for 250's to work, but may require alot of arrow length or string changes.

I shoot 250's out of 2 recurves one 48@28 and the other 54@28 my draw is 29". I use fastflight string.  Both bows are cut to center.  I used OL tuning method and the dynamic spine calculator that has been posted several times. Shaft cut to 30" 100g brass insert and 125 tip.  I would not change a thing.

3rivers sells a bareshaft tuning kit from CE 90 to 350 shafts are included in it.

Thanks guys for your input.  It looks like I should probably get a test kit or one of each of the 150 & 250 shafts before and do a little test of my own before buying a whole doz.  I can then toy around with different BH's and inserts.

I am shooting a 50# bow and this past weekend I shot  a 28.5 250 heritage with 190 grizzly  Broadhead  regular insert maybe 225 up front bow was a psa widow - perfect flight.  150's kicked somewhat.
