I know there not much to them but I'm in need of a few of them. I wondering for those that use them what is a good one to get. Any input would be great!

A string keeper on the bottom limb of your bow does a few things:

1st It protects the bottom tip from damage if you set the bow on its' limb tip.

2nd It keep the string from falling off the bottom tip when you  unstring your bow.

3rd It makes it great for using your bow to stabilize your binos when hunting. Just set the bottom tip on your boot and your binos on the top limb very stable!!!

I like the leather ones as they can not collect water and the sun will not let them rot out. And they look a whole lot better than the plastic ones.


2nd It keeps the string in place when unstrung and doesn't let it fall off the bottom tip.

Did you mean tip protectors, or string keepers? if it's string keepers, just cut the loop end off of an old bowstring, ans leave about a foot of the old string. Then just put the loop over the nock, and tie the loose end around the string. Simple and free.

A rubber band works for the bottom nock, too.

The best string keeper that I have used is one from Mike at MAL.  I have had four or five in the past and even made a couple, but none of them worked near as good as the one from Mike.  Some slip or turn, look like they would scratch the bow, not stay tied, or tight, etc. but love the ones Mike make they stay in place, won't scuff your finish and look great.
