Went out last weekend to see if the carp were in, and it was a bust. Not today- I shot several nice sized fish, lost a monster, and missing..... a lot of em. To be honest, my shooting pretty much sucked, but I did still manage to land several, including these.

I aimed low, lower, and lower yet. I raised up. Didn't matter, I was either under or over them 99% of the time. If I could actually hit anything, I'd have easily shot over 200 fish. I was literally surrounded by fish all afternoon.

I found a small cut that empties into the bay from an old no longer used marina area, and the carp were lined up going up the cut. I watched groups of 4-5 carp parade by all day. It was awesome!

There were a lot of them laying up sunning themselves in the short pencil reeds, pretty easy to spot and if you moved slow, you could stalk in close before they spooked.

I have to work tommorrow, but I'll be back out there this weekend for sure.
...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

Try bare shafting.  Really.  It sounds like your nock point on your string is off a little.  Try a shot on land and see if your arrow is porposing.  Your string, like your fletching, can hide a problem.  When the arrow hits the water, it planes, and you miss high or low.  Bill

Man what a blast!!!!

We have much in common my friend, I can't seem to hit them buggers very well either!!

Good luck with them this weekend!!!
