HATE TO RAIN ON THE PARADE. BUT MANY OF THE SNAKES MENTIONED HERE ARE PROTECTED SPIECES IN MOST STATES
(sorry about the caps).

And no, I'm not a PETA or animal rights member.I'm just stating a fact.

Mike Gerardi

Man I love a snaked limb on a bow!!        Good stuff.

I'M GLAD THE SNAKE ON MY BOW DIDN'T LIVE IN ONE OF THOSE STATES!

Here's my Crow Creek Blackfeather with Cane Brake skins.

By the way, I've found that you can rejuvenate/enrich the skins color by applying an annual layer of Montana Pitch Blend. They do tend to fade and/or stress whiten over time.

OK......here we go; only problem is thateither the Tru-oil or the gun-stock wax I used kinda took some of the white out and gave it an off color----didn't notice it untill today in the sun. luckily my wife doesn't mind--she said it adds to the "rustic" look of a self-bow:

There is a picture of a bow hanging on a small bunch of aspens that has I believe prairie rattler skins...where is that picture.  Might have been a Centaur but not certain.

My JD Berry 'Serpentine' with Burmese Python. Not a real good pic, but the skins are darker than shown if a bit faded over time. Bow is over ten years old too.

...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

I've shared the photos of this bow 110 times. Let me know when you all get tired of seeing it.
