Hi Guys,
I have shot the Bighorn bows since 1977 and own several of them.  Like many 50+ yr old bowhunters...., the 60#+ weights I liked in my 20s and 30s have become "a little heavy", especially after sitting in a treestand for 6 hours in 20 degree weather.  I tried several times over the past few years to get in touch with Bighorn to get a new, lighter set of limbs for one of my takedowns.  This past winter I was able to locate the new owners and ordered a set of 50#, 62" limbs.  They arrived last month.  I am very pleased with the performance and quality of construction.  They did a great job of matching my riser and the speed is very good.  I really can't tell if I have lost much cast, as my sight picture/aiming spot doesn't seem to have changed-out to 30 yards.  Anyways- I just thought folks might want to know that they can get new limbs for their old Bighorns.

That's good to hear.  I guess I'm in the same boat you are, and I'm glad to hear some good news about Bighorn.

  I bought a 64" one-piece back in '82 but don't shoot it anymore because it's 63lbs at 30". Just more weight than I want to shoot these days. I still love it though, just don't shoot it.

Who is the new owner and where can they be reached? I've been shooting them since the early 90's and as far as im concerned there an awsome bow.Smooth fast and quiet what more could you want.I've been continplating a cape buffalo hunt and want to jump up from my 74#er I'd love for it to be another bighorn.

The guy I talked to is Rich Burch at Bighorn.  He is the bowyer (I don't know if he is the owner).  Nice guy and has been building bows for a while. Their phone # is (970)689-7561. I think they have a website-but I have not been on it.
All my bows were 60" in the past, I got the 62" limbs this time and they are very smooth.  It was sure nice to have a bow I like in a lower weight.  Dennis

I just realized I hadn't updated my profile in a while.  I moved to North Carolina a couple years ago, from Northern CA!  The limbs I got were red elm.  Very nice looking.

Scruff, did you get the 62" limbs  for a 17" riser?  I still shoot my '84 TD in 60".  Was looking for a 19" riser to make a 62"er. Thanks.

Boils down to trust. Rich has been building quality Bighorns since GFA era. 6 weeks ago armed with questions re my BHCustom, I caught him headed out the door on his way home. We talked for an hour before I realized how much of his time I had taken. He never said a bad word and was all the more helpful MOF.

Shick, I have a 17" riser, so with the 62" limbs- it really does have alot of working limb and is very smooth.  Glad to hear that Rich is the owner, he certainly acts like one!  Really seems to care about doing it right and keeping the Bighorn name out there.
