Any combination of these. All made by Bob Dozier.

As Brian P. above, I use a Bob Dozier as my go to knife. Most all of the Dozier affordable knives have D2 steel that he treats the metal a special way he has developed. It is hard to believe his knifes will field dress and cut up so many deer before having to touched them up. They run a little over $ 200 and one of the best values on the market.Mine is like the photo on the bottom, but green handle. A.G.Russel sells them on line also. Only sharp knifes are interesting! "Arrows into the wind", What a wounderful sight!!!

Always in my pocket = Victorinox "Fieldmaster"

In my pack = Buck "Bucklite" folder

On my belt = Buck Alpha Hunter (Rosewood)

These might be either supplemented or substituded by any number of others as well depending on the exact circumstances or task to be completed.
What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

I usually have one of a couple of pocket knives, but my go to git-er-done knife when there's meat on the ground is my Helle Veidemann blade with homemade handle.  Here it is by herself    :

And doing the honors on my first deer killed with my first homemade bow.  :archer:

A Searles bowie is on display at the Alamo, and would have been made in the 1820's-1830's

A Searles would be worth untold amounts of money! I sure hope you aren't carrying a real Searles bowie to gut deer with!!!!!

Tell us it isn't so!!!!!

Ive laid my Searles atop the glass case where COl Fowlers Searles rests at the Alamo.

No mine was a limited repop from a few years ago.

There were only two of that style made. Jims in the Santa Anna museum in mexico city, and Resins whom he gave to Fowler is at the alamo.

6" Buck knife I got for Christmas as a kid from my Dad.  Works great for deer. I usually carry a smaller folding knife if I'm just after rabbit/squirrel.  For elk this fall, I'm carrying a large Gerber Blade that 'Elkherder' sent me,as main knife and probably my buck knife also.

I carry a Case Trapper I got for Christmas from my brother. I'd been looking at it for a long time at the hardware store. It was quite a nice suprise. I use it every day at the restaurant cutting limes and such when I bartend and of course on my daily Prime Rib. I can't wait for it to actually be used for it's "intended" purpose. =0)

I also have a Bucklite that I've had for years. Also got me a Buck Short Nighthawk fixed blade.

I've had this one for 20 years. A custom folder by a fella out West who calls himself "Whiskers". It's a big knife with a 4" blade and an oosic (SP) handle.
