As many of you are aware we recently lost Gary POP'S Kellar to the Happy Hunting Grounds. This Memorial Hunt is so that we can remember our good friend and perpetuate his love for the friendships that are formed each year when Trad Gang Members meet.

Anyone that met Pop's knows of his love for our gatherings. Each year he would look forward with great enthusiasm to the Texas Sweat Hunt. When you arrived in camp, he was always there with that huge big smile and one heck of a handshake. He cherished the friendships that spawned from our gatherings. Gary spent time every day on Trad Gang, he said little most of the time but enjoyed most  just seeing what all his friends where up to.

Gary and I spoke many times over the past year about the Sweat Hunt and it was his wish that we continue this Tradition. This is my idea of how we can remember our good friend for many years to come.

POP'S KELLAR MEMORIAL HUNT

The recipient will have a spot on the Texas Sweat Hunt. I am looking for annual contributions to cover the hunt costs $700.00 Total per year ($650.00 = 5 day hunt + $50.00 for award plaque). If you want to contribute you can post here your annual contribution. I will contact everyone individually with details on where to send $$. Recipiant each year will get engraved plaque.

We will offer this hunt each year on the St. Judes Auction. It will rotate from Auction item one year to raffled the next year. All proceeds from auction or raffle go to St. Judes.

If all goes well and quick we will have it in St. Judes Auction this year.

To be 100% clear, I am looking for annual donors to raise the $700.00 fee each year forever. In the event that there is not a Texas Sweat Hunt the recipient will have $650.00 towards any other Trad Gang Hunt of their choice.

No amount is to small, just budget to provide it each year. I will keep a running tally on this post and we will stop at $700.00.

If my math serves me right, Doc John, the Honorable Missouri Sherpa finished up our needs for this one. Don, your offer to contribute is a great gesture and I hope you will take those funds and use them to purchase this hunt during the St. Judes Auction. Love to share camp with you.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for helping to keep Dad alive through our adventures. You could never know the depth of respect and admiration he had for all of you! We'd sit and talk often about all the adventure we'd lived through your stories when you returned to camp each night. We'd laugh at the good times and trudge through the failures with you as well. Dad loved to spend time with each one of you. It seemed to be the fuel that kept his fire going for so long. Thanks again for such a nice gesture. Glad to know Dad will remain with us in all our future hunts the way he always was with us in the past. I sure miss him! Camp just isn't the same anymore. Kinda empty!  CK
