Whoo hoo, I didnt get drawn, but my wife did!! She got a bull tag, for the first hunt!! She is bouncing all over the house as I type this. I had to twist her arm to get her to put in, told her I felt like one of us would get drawn.

DANG!! No tag for me or my son. Congrats to your wife Koger.

limbolt

No tag here either. Congradulations to your wife Koger.

Thanks guys, she is really pumped up, called all her brothers and my hunting buddies. She is a pretty accomplished hunter, has taken 13 deer. I am really proud and happy for her. Best of all, I get to go scout, go hunting with her, call for her and enjoy the hunt even though I didnt get drawn.

Well I believe I will be the person the farthest away from KY to draw a tag.  Not the bull tag I had hoped for.  Can any one tell me what to expect?

Ike 403

I, too, am elk-less again this year. Wonder how many non-resident tags were drawn out of the 1000 available?
The great bow twanged. The black arrow sped straight from the string, straight for the hollow
by the left breast where the foreleg was flung wide. In it smote and vanished, barb, shaft,
and feather, so fierce was its flight.~J.R.R. Tolkien-The Hobbit

At least 1!  BTW, I did draw a cow tag.

Dang Steve that's a long way to go for a cow elk hunt.  Especially when Moose are open up there.

It should be a hoot.  Limited draw hunts are generally very good.  You need to hook up with some of the KY boys and get some scouting info.

Thats great Koger.    WE will need lots of picks when she busts that big 6x6 or 7x7.

Mike:  I drew a moose tag up here too but moose season will be long over before this hunt even starts!  Yeah, I must be 4,000 miles or more from KY!  They made a mistake and were suppose to give me a bull tag instead!

So who can give me advice on which areas to apply for on the area-draw round?

Any input on what quality the hunting would be late in the season, say at the very end in Januaryn?

Magilla

Steve, I will ask around and see what I can find out for you.

Didn't get mine either. Good Luck to all that did.

Thanks Scott.  Sounds like there are two bowhunting only opportunities but both are in the same zone.  Not sure what things would be like in the other zones.
