I am new here, I am trying to find out where I can get a set of plans or someone e-mail me the directions on how to build a STRING JIG. I would like to learn to build my own strings for my 60 inch recurves.....I would appreciate any and all the help I can get....Thanks in advance...jebb45

Check out the "How To" section, there is alot of instructions on making things and helping out.

i'm working a new, super simple one arm endless string jig and will provide a pictorial on the build, along with spinning an endless string.

I'm betting Rob's tutorial will be great.

Lots of plans for flemish jigs on the 'net--be sure to pick one that goes by ACTUAL STRING LENGTH--lots go by bow length, and that is always hit or miss.

If you aren't mechanically inclined (I'm sure not), BCY has a nice little set-up for endless strings that doesn't cost nearly as much as the "Dream Machine" jig (that's what I have--it's a great jig, but expensive).  They have the uprights without the uni-strut bar that you can clamp to your work table--not quite as fast or convenient, but lots cheaper.  If you need info on that one, just holler.

Chad,

That's what I use, the Yellowstone micro stretcher and the mini armature.  Lot cheaper than the Dream Machine, but does just as good a job.

In fact it's easy enough to build good stings with just the micro stretcher and a spreader.  The mini armature makes it easier, but it's not necessary.  It's much better to spend money on a good serving tool.
