I'm wondering what the difference between the two is. I like a darker color for limb veneers so I like the looks of the dirty boo, with nodes of course. I guess my question is what makes it dirty??

I believe it's a fungus.  

I searched for it with no luck recently.  Maybe this thread will uncover some for us both.

I have 3 bows with bamboo limbs.

One is natural. ( no help )

A Tomahawk SS that is naturally dirty I think, it has some streaks that are darker with no real pattern.

And a Dryad Orion that is stained to give it the dirty look for 3/4 the length of the limb. Which looks very good.

All 3 bows still show the nodes of the bamboo and all look good. I think I personally like the Dryad best because it is very even compared to the Tomahawk.

I'll try the pictures again later.

The Orion and all of our bamboo is natural "dirty".  We grind our own lams from raw bamboo stock and it's a pain.

the dirty is the stuff at the botom of shipments and stock that get moisture and grow fungus, i belive it acts the same just looks different

Actually it's a type of bamboo.  It is sold too us as Tonkin Bamboo and we know the name is incorrect.  But that being said, it is a construction bamboo that grows with the color in it.  I don't know what causes the color but am sure glad it's there.

90+% of the poles we buy have color throughout, the other 10% have a little.

There is no difference in performance from pc to pc.  It all shoots great.
